A Visit To Peshwa Energy and Adventure Park

Peshwa Energy Park and Children’s Adventure Park

When you feel that there is nothing much to see inside the Pune city, when you feel that going out of the city is time-consuming and tiring, when you feel that going to mall is an everyday activity, you must go along with your child to visit Peshwa Energy Park and Children’s Adventure Park near Saras Baug. Native Punekars have a lot of memories of this place which was once called ‘Peshwe Udyaan’ (Peshwa Zoo) which later got shifted to Katraj. For those new in Pune, please follow the Google Map for exact location.

What would you get in Rs. 40? Go to any mall in Pune and the Car parking rates would be Rs. 20 or more. Visit Peshwa Park, and in Rs. 40 your child can enjoy unlimited adventure activities and games for the whole day. From rappelling to walking on the Burma bridge, from balancing yourself on different ropes to riding a bicycle on the ropes, from understanding the mass and inertia to understanding Pythagoras theorem, everything is there. Your child will never get tired visiting these activities. Trust me, all these activities, if done in a mall or somewhere in a resort, one needs to spend around Rs. 2000, but here they are available only for Rs. 40, and that too, for the entire day. One might think that if the charges are so less, the quality of the games or activities wouldn’t be great, but you are wrong. The infrastructure is nicely developed and properly maintained by the Pune Municipal Corporation.

At the very entrance, you will come across the instruction board that clearly mentions to the over enthusiast people that games here at Peshwa Park are for enjoyment and for testing your own ability, and not for having competition with others.

On each activity, appropriate age to play it has been written, but some of the parents do not follow that and may end up in some trouble. Each activity or the game has been designed keeping in mind the particular age group. There is an activity where a child is to hold the hanging rope and is to go from one hanging rope to other. Most of the activities will remind you of the activities you have done during your visit to a resort or a farm during your holidays. This place reminded me of Bhor Adventure Camp for which I paid Rs. 900 some years back. The best part of this visit was Phoolrani, the toy train. And the cost for per person for that is Rs. 20. That’s it.

This is a great place to take your child and enjoy. Don’t worry about the food as there are dozens of food joints by the side of the road near Peshwa Park. What you need to worry about is whether your child enjoys every adventure activity in a day.

Things to keep in mind when planning a visit here:
·         You must have a child accompanying you. They only allow you if there is a child.
·         The entry ticket costs Rs. 10 for adults (as they don’t have any ride or a game to play) and Rs. 40 for children (including all adventure games and rides)
·         Take time out to visit Science Park that showcases and gives information about the scientific phenomenon in a simple way.
·         Don’t take food inside. They don’t allow it.
·         Must enjoy the toy train ride.
Though it is one of the best trips I have ever done with my family, I expect following things from Pune Municipal Corporation to be taken care of:
·         The park is adventurous park, and I couldn’t find any of the first aid facility available here. ‘AT OWN RISK’ boards are seen hanging.
·         Some of the games are old now. They need repairmen.
·         Parents too, in excitement, enjoy these games that are meant for kids. Though there is security, parents do not listen to them.
So, spend your weekend with your child at this place and experience something different.

FRIENDS FOREVER ???

Such a clichĂ© title, you might be thinking and my blog must have already been judged by you. But I’m guessing the question mark must have intrigued your curiosity. To be honest I was looking forward to this long weekend to write about a few things which were there on my mind from a long time and this topic was not at all in the list. But today when I sat to hit the keys on my laptop I realized it’s ‘Friendship Day’ eve and suddenly there was a hurricane of thoughts in my mind struggling to burst. I have met many people in my life, some have no parents, some no siblings, some have no aunts-uncles and some no relatives but I have not met a single person till date without a friend. Even the most narcissist person like Dr. House has the  most  humble friend like Wilson. So what makes this relationship so incomparable and pure? I think a simple fact that we get to choose it. In childhood being someone’s friend or having a friend was a big deal. You wouldn’t call anyone your f...

An Encounter With Wildlife

“TO COME CLOSER, GO TOO FAR” I don’t know from whom and when I heard this quote, but yesterday, the quote proved true when I went to my village for its annual fair. It is my grandmother’s place. I have hardly stayed there for more than twice as I do not like the eating habits of the people living there. They eat bhakris (made up of Jawar and Bajra in the breakfast, in the lunch and in the dinner too. I am more habitual too and would always love to eat chapattis and bread. There are many other reasons why I haven’t spent many days there when my other siblings are always happy to spend their entire Diwali and summer vacation. The village fair is a great affair, for the villagers . I have been going there once in a year since last three years just to drop my mother as she cannot travel by public transport due to an injury in her back, and I have hardly stayed there even for a night. Though people there are very nice and have all praises for me, I always preferred to be...

Study is not Everything......

I am tired of studying for these terms. Can career be really made by being a bookworm? Or should I also study because others have been doing it without giving it a turn? Life is so small just like a 12 hours tic-toc clock. if I spend 8 hours in studying, Sure, my life will be blocked. I can't learn answers by heart Neither I can fill the pages by being oversmart. My handwriting is not so good Neither my Maths presentation. But I know all what I see and listen. It is still there in my Brain's accomodation. I can't manage getting up early breaking my dreams and the world of fairy. I can't manage to be scared of someone Scared of teacher when I don't do homework. I don't accept hitting the rular on my hand I am not the tiger in the circus who is badly trapped. How can express what my heart wants? Where my mind roams and where my soul stunts. Let me dive in the oceans of my dreams Let me persue, whether a smile or a chilled scream. Let me live just for today forgett...
